842 Radio in Cristallo

The Radio in Cristallo is a project by Franco Albini from 1940 and proposed by Cassina in the I Maestri collection. Structure made of extra-clear tempered glass plates with matt black lacquered MDF cases, power, and speaker cables covered in black fabric. Visible metal parts, screws, and display knobs in satin or white painted stainless steel.

The design idea of the Radio in Cristallo came to Franco Albini when for the wedding he received a radio as a gift, at the time, in 1940, contained in a wooden cabinet. Symbol of his design method, the Radio strips off its wooden casing and shows only the essential electrical components, giving it an authentic image of modernity.
Cassina in collaboration with the Franco Albini Foundation reissues this product in the same proportions, with a state-of-the-art B&C speaker, and the FM radio, DAB radio, and Bluetooth Pairing functions can be navigated through four steel knobs placed on one of the two crystal plates together with a 7-inch display. Each Radio in Cristallo bears the logo and signature of Franco Albini as well as the progressive numbering that corresponds to the identity card that accompanies each piece of the Cassina I Maestri Collection.
It is also possible to buy the subwoofer in matt black lacquered MDF.

You can change your mind
