Alvaro Siza

Born in 1933, รlvaro Siza is one of the greatest representatives of Portuguese architecture. His works range from swimming pools to public buildings and lighting solutions, such as the refined Falena lamps by FontanaArte and Flamingo by BD Barcelona Design. According to his philosophy, tradition is not an attitude of closure; on the contrary, it is openness to innovation. The mutual link between architecture and nature is considered as the relationship between the object and its "circumstances".

รlvaro Siza, Eduardo Souto de Moura and Fernando Tavora are considered the three protagonists of the so-called "School of Porto".
