Charles Rennie Mackintosh

Charles Rennie Mackintosh (Glasgow 1868 - London 1928) is one of the greatest architects and designers between the end of the 1800s and the beginning of the 1900s. Since his childhood, he shows his passion for drawing and starts his career at the Glasgow School of Art. Thanks to his strong personality he becomes the most authoritative exponent of the group known as "The Glasgow School". The group immediately met with success throughout Europe, Charles traveled a lot and the artistic currents of that period influenced him, making himself present in a style that mixed Scottish design with the innovations of Art Nouveau. His genius is alive both in architecture and in interior design: the famous chair with high backrest Hill House Chair and the Mackintosh table made for Cassina are not considered simple furnishings, but small works of art admired all over the world.
