Renzo Piano
Born Italian and world citizen, Renzo Piano is one of the most famed contemporary architects. Polyhedral and with a strong personality, he is famous for the creation of breathtaking buildings and structures such as the famous Centre Pompidou, built between 1972 and 1977 together with Richard Rogers. His works range from architecture to the recovery of historical structures and up to furniture. Among these, the design of the Tjibaou Cultural Center and the beautiful Voltri chairs for Riva 1920.
With his countless international projects, Renzo Piano is considered the most famous Italian architect worldwide.

Renzo Piano was born in Genoa in 1937. Raised in a family of builders, he developed a strong attachment to his city and to his father's profession. After graduating from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1964, he worked with Franco Albini and Marco Zanuso. In 1971 he founded the Piano & Rogers studio in London with Richard Rogers, and the Atelier Piano & Rice with Peter Rice. In 1981 he founded the Renzo Piano Building Workshop, with 150 employees and offices in Paris, Genoa and New York.
