Samuel Wilkinson

A dynamic sense of experimentation pervades each piece of design by Samuel Wilkinson, a visionary artist passionate about new shapes and material research. He graduated at Ravensbourne College of Art & Design in 2002, focusing his academic career on furniture and product design. In 2007 he founded his industrial design studio and in 2008 he designed the renowned Arbre de Flonville in Lausanne, Switzerland, the metal tree that started his international career.

In a combination of dynamism and creative spirit, Samuel Wilkinson represents an embracing, original approach towards design.

Thanks to his deep knowledge of materials, the studio reaches the highest levels of expertise and ability.
Passion and expertise have led Samuel Wilkinson in 2011 to the creation of the Plumen 001 light bulb, the product that earned him the “2011 Design of the Year” award from the London Design Museum. He also designed the ‘Vessel Series’, blown glass lamps created for the British lighting brand Decode Londo. Some of his collections have been exhibited in several international museums, such as the V&A in London and the MoMA in New York.
