Koya is a desk designed by Marie-Christine Dorner for Ligne Roset, made of ash wood.
Koya is a desk that takes the concept "Matière matters" launched in 2004, according to which the search for beauty does not necessarily mean the creation of new forms but may well involve revealing the nobility of the material used when it is well worked, here it is ash, perhaps augmented with fabric screens to protect them from the light and preserve intimacy. Koya with the symbolism of the perching bird and the poetry of the fabric screens evocative of washing left to dry on lines, the Koya desk is evocative of nature, a cabin nestling at the bottom of the garden. Marie-Christine Dorner to described his creation as a refuge for working, concentrating, reflecting, imagining.
