Modern and appealing design and product quality are among the main strong points of Scandinavian design. Like every year, also for the Milan Design Week the brands of Northern Europe played a key role during the seven days in Milan

A success that continues to combine innovation and tradition, iconic and timeless pieces, re-edits in the name of brands such as Carl Hansen & Søn, Normann Copenhagen, Moooi, HAY, Menu, & tradition, Muuto and many others. In the frame of the Milan Design Week in which Scandinavian essentiality and Italian style confront each other and exalt each other.

Normann Copenaghen

A collection with sophisticated and dusty colors, the hallmark of the brand, and with brass details, the trend of the moment, that presented by Normann Copenhagen during Milan Design Week. These include the modular seating system Sum, the Herit oak chair, the Grant lamp and the Eddy table lamp, with a marble base, and the Hyg lounge furniture series, inspired by the Danish concept of hygge.

Other new features include the Ace lounge collection, designed by Hans Hornemann, a collection of high-quality upholstered furniture that can be dismantled and transported in a flat pack, the expression of a design inspired by the urban lifestyle and increasingly nomadic.

HAY

In the suggestive location of Palazzo Clerici, in the heart of old Milan, HAY presented an exhibition on the shared vision of the future of design, with the aim of creating better experiences for everyday life, imagining spaces that explore the best of design between integration and contrast in a historical framework.

Among furniture, fabrics, accessories and lighting, the Danish brand that is conquering the world with its colorful and ironic style, has launched the new products signed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, GamFratesi and Stefan Diez. The Can collection of sofas and armchairs is a HAY re-edition with new fabrics and a new upholstery structure. Among the accessories to report, the vase with an organic and crafted shape designed by Jessica Hans.

Carl Hansen & Søn has instead taken over the series of indoor-outdoor architectural furniture by Bodil Kjær and the iconic pieces by Hans Wegner. One of the guiding principles of these re-editions has been the use of materials resistant to climate change and atmospheric agents such as wind, sun, salt, snow and fog, increasingly central needs in the contemporary market.

Muuto

Then Muuto, who presented the modular shelves in oak wood and the contemporary design Stacked, the Base High table, the E27 and Unfold pendant lamps, the Workshop coffee table, the Enfold sideboard, and the nice metal coat rack The Dots.
