In the construction of the swimming pool area, the structural interventions are certainly the most critical and delicate, but also the layout of the surrounding area is crucial for the success of the project as a whole. The use of the swimming pool, in fact, is not limited to just the pool but also to a whole series of furnishings and accessories to choose from and arrange, just as we would do for an interior inside the house. The furnishing elements must be chosen as part of a whole, an environment that will host us and our guests in moments of relaxation and which must be suitable for different climatic conditions. Quality is crucial, to maintain an impeccable and well-groomed appearance over time and prevent obsolescence, or worse, slovenliness, which just do not suit a swimming pool area.

Beds: large, comfortable and in the right quantity

Tosca by Tribù

The sunbed is a fundamental element, one could say that it has the same importance as the swimming pool, for the time we spend there. When choosing, the first aspect to consider is comfort, because relaxing on an uncomfortable bed is an impossible operation. Another important feature is the weight: if we want to move our beds, for example in the sun or in the shade, they must not be too heavy. Finally, the number: how many beds should it be inserted? Well, this depends on the size of the space we have: the overflow, in a "lido" style is to be avoided but it is important to have enough seats for everyone, so the number will be a fair compromise. As for the style, here are some very interesting proposals. On the cover, the sunbed from the Rafael  collection designed by Paola Navone  for Ethimo : the width is one of the first features that catches the eye, the cot is in fact 138cm wide. The structure is in pickled teak and the backrest evokes exotic architecture. The upholstery, unusual for the outdoors, is perfectly balanced. Everything invites you to relax and escape. More classic but equally structured is the Tosca  sunbed by Monica Armani  for Tribù : the base is in steel on which a very thick weave with an elegant and natural effect is inserted. A completely different style characterizes the bed of the Solanas  collection by Daniel Germani for GandiaBlasco  with the characteristic back in microperforated sheet metal and optional armrests in Dekton®, a very high performance material.

A shaded area for the hottest hours

Outdoor Collection by Carl Hansen & Son

Increasingly aware of the effects of the sun and increasingly eager for cool areas in which to take refuge in the hottest hours, we must therefore provide the furniture for our precious places in the shade. An intriguing idea is that of Carl Hansen & Son , who offers a swinging sofa to be positioned strategically to enjoy shade and air.

Outdoor lounge for those who do not swim

Table à Plateau by Cassina

Not just sunbeds: a really well-kept pool area always also has a conversation area with sofas and tables: in the image, an icon of design in an outdoor key, the Table à Plateau designed by Charlotte Perriand  in 1937 and produced today by Cassina . In this outdoor version it is made with a solid teak structure and Carrara marble top with oil-hydro finish.

Privacy and décor

Clostra by Ethimo

Finally, we must protect the privacy even in our own garden, but so as not to compromise the style of the pool area. In this perspective, Ethimo 's proposal with the Clostra  screen, designed by Emmanuel Gallina , is very interesting, the shape is that of a stylized tree, the materials - teak and aluminum - are those typical of outdoor furniture and the shadows that create becomes an element of unedited decoration.
