During the 2019 Salone del Mobile, presents its latest products in an extraordinary location just like its collection, A Life Extraordinary. The location is the Mediateca Santa Teresa, located in Brera, in the center of Milan. What is now a digital library was once a church with original architectural features: sophisticated arched ceilings and domed vaults fill the large rooms and fully match with the concept of "extraordinary" that Moooi wants to express with its new creations. The ultimate goal of Moooi is to present its news through a unique sensory experience, able to fully invest visitors and drag them into the Moooi world: luxurious, whimsical and original. The BFF sofa will be the main protagonist of the show.
Signed by Marcel Wanders, BFF is a modular sofa of the highest quality suitable for residential and contract environments at the same time. The quilted look is inspired by the capitonné technique, freely inspired by the Chesterfield style, with the characteristic deep and buttoned padding. In the BFF sofa this technique explodes and a fragment becomes a complete module. This technique, synonymous with elegance and class, but declined in a modern key, makes the BFF modular sofa appealing and timeless.
Moooi makes its soft and comfortable shape the main reading key. To put it in the same words as the designer, the BFF is “a sofa that is your friend, that embraces you if you are tired, that cheers with you when your national soccer team scores a goal, that makes your mother-in-law feel welcome, that comforts you when you receive bad news, that stays with you also when you move cities, that never skips your birthdays, that never talks too loud, yet supports you if you do. A true Best Friend Forever.”
