Cassina 607 Taliesin 1 Armchair

607 Taliesin 1 is a small armchair designed in 1949 by the architect Frank Lloyd Wright, reproposed by Cassina from 1986 to 1990, today it is reintroduced in a new version. Craftsmanship, more advanced technologies and greater comfort for the unique and original Origami Chair.

The great architect Wright has designed a series of furnishing elements that marked an era for his home / study in Arizona called Taliesin West, now home to the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. A true wooden origami, an expression of design maturity. The first re-edition of the Taliesin 1 armchair was produced by Cassina from 1986 to 1990; it remained little in the collection perhaps for its still too avant-garde soul. After 30 years, Cassina introduces a new edition in agreement with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. With respect to the first re-edition, some accessory elements have been eliminated, such as the front feet, for a greater explanation of the folding concept, and the armchair is even more comfortable thanks to the increased inclination of the back and a thickening of the padding. In addition to the historical version also a limited contemporary edition, available in three colors for a total of 450 limited editions. The structure is always in beech plywood but mat lacquered with the wooden profile and the inner lining in leather with short pile of the same shade of lacquer: 150 in amaranth, 150 in petrol and 150 in blue.
