Artek

Through its radical and modernist spirit, Artek is the synthesis of art and technology, two sides as different as they are complementary in the world of design.  The Finnish company was founded in Helsinki in 1935, under the guidance of the architects Aino and Alvar Aalto, the patron Marie Gullichsen and the art historian Nils-Gustav Hahl, and immediately established himself among the most famous exponents of Scandinavian design. Famous for the innovative creations in curved wood by Aino and Alvar Aalto, still in production, the company manufactures lamps and lighting systems, furniture, and design accessories. Among the most successful items, the Artek stools, trolley, tables, and chairs are a representation of the study and experimentation of prestigious materials such as wood.
