Wiener GTV Design
Founded in 1853 by Michael Thonet, the company quickly conquered the market, by using the already known wood bending technique and transforming it into a fast industrial process for the series production. The classic chair N.1, from which numerous models came up to the chair N. 14, was created in 1850. In 1976, the company changed its name to Gebrüder Thonet Vienna (GTV) and continued its activity reinterpreting historic furnishings. The GTV products stand out for their sophisticated and functional design such as the Promenade sofa by Philippe Nigro and the Targa sofa by GamFratesi. These refined and modern pieces of furniture are realized in collaboration with important designers such as Adolf Loos, Nendo Studio, Otto Wagner, Josef Hoffmann, Vico Magistretti, Michele De Lucchi and many others. Gebrüder Thonet Vienna is Mohd’s partner.
