“...Jacobsen was one of the first to reinterpret Modernism in the Danish project, expanding the concepts of form and function.” - Domus
Born and raised in Copenhagen, Arne Jacobsen graduated in architecture from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen, in 1927. Later he began his career working in Paul Holsøe’s architecture firm, and then opened his own studio in Hellerup, where he worked as an architect and designer. From architecture to furniture, all his pieces are an expression of modernist design and of a clear and soft functionalism.
