Following a period in Japan Perriand’s work shifted focus. The cultural influence can be observed in her designs in the selection of traditional natural materials including bamboo and wood, and the pieces themselves, which aesthetically were completely different from her previous work with Le Corbusier. Other subsequently important interior collaborations included the Unité d’Habitation in Marseille and Les Arcs in Savoie demonstrating her ever-experimental approach to design and the value and uniqueness of Perriand’s creativity.
