Ingo Maurer is an eccentric designer from Germany, known for the creation of lamps and lighting system with a revolutionary and innovative style. After his studies in graphic design he left Germany for the USA, where he worked as a freelance graphic designer. Once back in Germany, in 1963, he founded the Studio Design M, later renamed Ingo Maurer GmbH. One of his first designs, Bulb has been included in the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in 1969. Ingo Maurer is known for creations become true lighting design icons, such as Campari and Canned Lights, togheter with more recent lamps with an original design, equipped with the latest technology, such as Birdie or Blow me up lamp.
