An iconic, bended line: Arco by Flos is an evergreen in lighting solutions, a real legend of Art Design. It is part of the permanent collection of Milan’s Triennale Design Museum and NY’s MoMa. Designed in 1962 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, it is an essential yet efficient lamp, which can light up as a real chandelier, but without a fixed point.

The two young designers wanted to reach the best result in the minor space possible, but with style. That’s how Arco was created, a stunning lamp which diffuses its light in a range of 2 meters, saving space.

The elegance and sinuosity of Arco is combined with the sobriety of steel iron. A marble base of about 65 kg, with beveled corners, supports the lamp and the central hole allows to move the lamp with a pivot. Nothing is left to chance: every single detail was carefully studied.

Arco’s design has never been modified - just the electric system was updated to safety norms. It is one the most imitated design items. In fact, Flos Arco received in 2007 the protection of copyright from the tribunal of Milan, which considered it as a work of art. This was a revolutionary event which lead to a change in Italian law.
