Ama500 Suspension Lamp

Ama500 is a stylish suspension lamp designed by the masters Aino and Alvar Aalto and produced by the famous brand Artek. This pendant lamp has the shade and ring made in formed sheet steel. Lampshade in white powder-coated and ring in brass-plated.

Alvar Aalto believed that the purpose of architecture is to bring the material world into harmony with human life. Designed by Aino and Alvar Aalto in 1937, Villa Mairea is maybe one of the best examples of the Aaltos’ design philosophy. There, perhaps unsurprisingly for two native Finns familiar with dark Nordic winters, lighting was of great importance. Today you can still find Aino Aalto’s timeless Pendant Light AMA500 in the villa’s library and as part of Artek’s lighting collection. Providing a soft and warm light, Pendant Light AMA500 is of mid-size and composed of sheet steel. Suitable as a single light source over a dining table or desk, its generous width sheds a substantial amount of light downwards.

Light source: E27 max - 12W - 220-240V, 50/ 60 Hz - DRR- Appliance class II, IP20 Is compatible with bulbs of the energy class A to G.
