Catellani & Smith
Catellani & Smith is a born thanks to the tenacity and great imagination and dedication of its founder: Enzo Catellani. The young man from Parma decides at age 28, to pursue a career in management trader taking a lamp store in Bergamo. Business is not good but that is the starting point for him to start a new venture, to design and create his handmade lamps. In 1989 he invented Turciù, a tangle of wires supple and light, which soon met with a huge success. From there the career of Enzo Catellani is linked to that of its articles, strictly hand and bizarre names Bergamo: Turciù, Fil de fer, Stchu-moon, Olstrass. Simple light sculptures that twenty-five years enchant with increasingly advanced technology and finishes more and more valuable. Elementary forms, readily available materials and intuitive designs, never subjected to the logic of the market and with the objective to grow by placing at the center of the product. This is the philosophy and the mission of Catellani & Smith.
