Founded in the mid-50s, a decade of experimentation and creativity, Zanotta soon became one of the most important design companies worldwide. The visionary entrepreneur, Aurelio Zanotta, firmly believed that it was possible to combine profit and culture, and focused on the aesthetic, formal, technological innovation and the production of durable items. The Zanotta collections include tables and coffee tables, armchairs and sofas, bookcases and beds, many of which are now exhibited in the most prestigious international museums and art galleries. Zanotta was awarded three times the Compasso d'Oro, thanks to Guscio by Roberto Menghi, Shanghai by De Pas D'Urbino-Lomazzi and Tonietta by Enzo Mari. Collaborating with renowned designers, such as Achille Castiglioni, Gae Aulenti, Marco Zanuso, Ettore Sottsass, Joe Colombo, Alessandro Mendini, Andrea Branzi, Carlo Mollino, Bruno Munari, Alfredo Häberli and Ross Lovegrove, Zanotta wrote the history of Made in Italy.
