Molteni&C Intersection Kitchen

Intersection, the new project by Vincent Van Duysen for Dada, is a kitchen with a strong expressive character and refined details that highlight Dada's excellence in the processing of the material.

Their team was inspired by the great masters Piet Mondrian and Carlo Scarpa: the first, for the use of geometric compositions that identify the progenitor of the de Stijl movement, using essences that intersect and create rigorous geometries; the second, for the refinement of materials and details that distinguish one of his masterpieces, the Palazzo Querini Stampalia in Venice, where marble, stone, ceramic, wood and metal finishes are used in a masterly way to create environments of great refinement and beauty. The system offers linear, corner or island compositions, where surfaces and worktops create plays of light and shadow. The worktop has become the generating element of the project, characterized by a new 50 mm thick design. Conceived as a sculptural detail, it creates a channel under the edge that allows doors and drawers to be opened without the need for handles. A new material, Breccia Capraia natural stone, marked by splendid streaks of dark color, makes each top, back or shelf a unique piece. The inlay of the doors enhances the materiality of the essences and ennobles the plasticity of the lacquered surfaces, with a design that recalls architecture and dominated by the geometric proportion. The snack element has surfaces in essence characterized by veins that intersect to form a pleasant linear and rational profile.
