Zanat Kalia Chaise Longue

Kalia is a sophisticated chaise longue designed by Jean-Marie Massaud for the Zanat brand. Made in two finishes with optional handmade wool blanket. Kalia's base is made of powder-coated steel with a slim, minimalist column and flat rectangular base, which gives the sculptural wooden top a levitating lightness.

Kalia chaise lounge is genuinely innovative and visually light, expertly carved in very thick solid wood (maple or cherry). The upper part is composed of about 50 pieces of wood, each with a different and extraordinarily precise geometry. The pieces, joined at a 45 degree angle, must fit together perfectly to form the curves of the chaise lounge. The joints not only testify to the craftsmanship of Zanat's craftsman and engineers, but also create a leaf-like fishbone pattern on the surface of the wooden top. Another essential highlight of this sculptural piece are the hand-carved edges which underline the elegant curvature of the piece. The carved model, designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, is inspired by the aesthetics of burnt wood. This is a product that makes the Zanat craftsman proud of his skills. For further comfort, the chaise longue will have a cushion and a removable handmade wool cover, the result of the collaboration with a women's enterprise in Bosnia, all designed by Jean-Marie Massaud.
