Comfort, quality design, artfully designed layout: these are the characteristics that make the interior design of the rooms of a boutique hotel special, where guests must feel even better than at home, let themselves be inspired but not overwhelmed by décor, having all the furniture they need but also the space to move fluidly. And here is also the outline of a well-designed bedroom, even for a domestic context, to feel like special guests every day, as it should be.

1. Color as a common thread

What are the most suitable colors for a bedroom, if our desire is to make it refined and welcoming as in a boutique hotel? This room at the Miramonti hotel in Forte dei Marmi suggests that we start from a neutral base and then add a splash of color, possibly choosing a soothing and therefore cold tint. In this case, the Chemise bed by Piero Lissoni  for Living Divani  is in a shade of intense blue, reminiscent of the colors of the sky and the sea: elegant and calming.

2. Materials that heat the atmosphere

Exposed beams on the ceiling and honey-colored parquet for the floor: this room at the Poesis experience hotel in Rome is an example of how to highlight the precious materials that we have chosen for our bedroom. Crucial, in this sense, is the choice of furnishings that do not hide the materials themselves and the Air bed by Lago , in the image, is perhaps one of the models that best meet this need. Thanks to its crystal structure it seems magically suspended.

3. The right light

Swing by Vibia

Why is light always measured and pleasant in boutique hotel rooms? Probably because it is not a central and intense light but rather a light coming from multiple, muted sources. Not to be underestimated are the bedside lights, which indeed can become the main light source. How? Vibia suggests it to us, with the Swing wall lights: elegant, discreet, they spread the light evenly and have a switch on the lamp holder, which is not very visible and very practical.

4. Carpets to soften sounds

In the bedroom, the carpet is not only a decorative element, it also performs the very important function of softening sounds, just like a sound-absorbing panel. So, if the boutique hotels conquer us for that muffled atmosphere that isolates us from the external chaos and ensures us a deep rest, we choose for our bedroom a carpet that performs this function. Like Gan 's kilim Rodas  (in cover), made of jute and viscose, with an interesting but discreet decorative motif, perfect for a classy domestic context.

5. The dream walk-in closet

Storage by Porro

Everything is perfectly in order in a boutique hotel, thanks also to large and well-conceived spaces for storage. This walk-in closet, in a room of the Grand Park Hotel in Rovinji, Croatia, is set up with the elements of Porro 's Storage line, which is truly a school in the sector, thanks to its ability to imagine walk-in closets with elegance, functionality and technology.
