On Tuesday, June 26th at Palazzo Mezzanotte, in Piazza degli Affari 6, Milan, the fourth Pambianco summit, organized this year with Interni Magazine and entirely dedicated to the world of furniture, entitled "The design industry between digitalization and internationalization ".The aim of the conference, moderated by the journalist Nicola Porro, host of the Matrix television program, was to create a meeting table between entrepreneurs and managers in the sector on the opportunities and challenges for the design world.

Gianluca Mollura

Host of this fourth edition on the Italian Stock Exchange stage to discuss e-commerce as a platform to reach a global market, was Gianluca Mollura, CEO of Mollura & C., a historic company from Messina that with its e-commerce, from 2011, has managed to establish itself among the best e-shop in the world in the field of furniture. These are the statements made by the manager from Messina in the intervention to the fourth design summit Pambianco: "Our history starts from a territorial gap: Sicily is certainly not the Silicon Valley and despite being Messina in the extreme north of Sicily, we are still in a 'island. My mother founded this company just 50 years ago, and it was thanks to her work and her sacrifices that I managed to grow personally and professionally.

Although in 2008 the turnover was positive without an e-commerce, we realized that if we had not invested in the digital world - in which today 40 people work - we would have lost all the know-how we had available in the company. Having an international vision has been fundamental for our economy: the challenge must always be to think how to continue to grow. Our goal was to make the world know our skills also in terms of design; expand our target audience in the furniture market. And if today our interior design services are required in Asia, America and throughout Europe, it means that we are on the right path ".Then a consideration on the Sicilian job market: "We receive many resumes every week and from every part of the world, but I am proud to point out how he always chose to invest in human capital coming from our land and managed to bring back to Messina talents who were studying in London or Paris and that they would have stayed abroad, otherwise. Talents who today have the opportunity to grow up in the company to become potential future managers ".
