“When I create a lamp, I always start off with a prototype; my laboratory is a workshop where I continually accumulate materials, components and objects of all different kinds; and this is where everything was born... I assemble, weld, bend, shape... I need to feel the materials, to see how they play with light...A large part of my production is made up by pieces that require a great amount of craftsmanship: it’s the hand of the craftsman that builds them, his manual work that creates the imperfection, making a truly unique object.” - Enzo Catellani

When the handcrafted works and the most advanced technology melt together, here it comes the collection Lederam by Catellani & Smith , an Italian company that has been working in the lighting design since 25 years.

Lederam appears as an essential collection, but indeed it has a strong personality: simple, elegant, stylish, with a modern delicacy to embellish the living area, a bedroom, an office or a dining room.

Lederam comes to light - it is appropriate to say it so- at the 2014 Frankfurt fair, after the latest refinements post Euroluce 2013, during which Catellani presented the first prototypes. This harmonious collection in the interest of eco-save combines two aspects in its  name: LED technology and the copper-colored leaf finish (copper is “rame” in Italian idiom).

The collection consists of fifteen types with different color combinations in gold, copper, black, white and chrome. The discs welcome a next generation LED module (Eco-Logic Light, as called by Enzo Catellani) that does not need a transformer and is easily dimmable.

The 17-watt LED module has an output of 1,300 lumens, comparable to a 75 watt halogen bulb, and lasts much higher, at least 35,000 hours (against 2,000 of traditional bulbs).

Lederam is available in different variations (table lamp, suspension lamp, wall lamp and floor lamp), all characterized by an unique line.
