On the one hand, European quality with its high costs and on the other, low prices and poor quality in China. This is how we usually look at goods of all kinds, thinking that there can be no quality except at high prices and that low prices mean low quality. Stellar Works wants to overcome this dichotomy and take the best from each productive tradition (Western and Eastern) to give life to a completely new and winning production tradition. In particular, the reference points of this project, born in 2012, are the French quality, the Chinese productive resources and the Japanese managerial skills to be fused together to obtain well-made furniture, mass-produced and sustainable. The company founder, Yuichiro Hori is Japanese and explains the reason for having established production in the Shanghai area: "In Shanghai it is still economically convenient to support a design-oriented manufacture, while it is no longer in America, Japan and Europe "and the operations director, Daisuke Hironaka, states that "In Shanghai, the market is oriented towards the hospitality industry and is geographically close to Japan. Here the quality standards are higher than the rest of China, where mostly high volumes are produced for the mass market ". In this context, the "Made in Shanghai" becomes a distinctive element to be proudly displayed, with the aim of obfuscating, the less flattering "Made in China" which, rightly or wrongly, has become synonymous with poor quality, creative and productive . The production strategy, therefore, is studied in detail, and applies the efficiency and managerial care of Japan to Chinese economic sustainability, selecting the Shanghai factory, better than the others. And the style? Also in this area, Stellar Works has studied and wisely identified the road to take, finding a meeting point between two geographically distant but close in the soul aesthetics: the Nordic / Scandinavian style and the Asian style. United by the essentiality, the wise use of wood and the no-frills elegance, the two traditions blend naturally. It is globalization in its positive sense, understood as the ability to raise a standard, taking the best of each productive tradition. This philosophy is also reflected in the choice to entrust the creative direction of the brand to the  Neri&Hu studio, based in Shanghai and London and therefore fully immersed in the cosmopolitan reality that flows in the veins of Stellar Works. Among the design studios that collaborate with the company, there are also the Danish Space Copenhagen , Yabo Pushelberg (Canada and USA), Jun Aizaki (USA),  Carlo Forcolini (Italy). Seven years after its creation, Stellar Works has established itself very much in the hospitality contract sector, but also offers interesting insights for domestic interiors, thanks to a collection of elegant furnishings, useful and easy to integrate with any style. Let's look at some examples together.

The Discipline Sofa by Neri & Hu

Discipline, because the structure of this sofa is austere and regular and is the ideal base for the four variants of cushions available. The two elements can be combined in the shape of an "L", but also as a long bench, and finally, back to back in the center of the room (on the cover).

Stellar Works has also chosen to re-edit some furnishings designed by Carlo Forcolini, co-founder of Alias. Among these, the iconic Cotton Club Lounge Chair, here in the version for two people. Of great personality but suitable for different furnishing contexts.

Nic Graham's QT Chillax

QT Chillax by Nik Grahm

The QT collection is a tribute by Nic Graham to the modernist tradition. Designed, originally for the Australian hotel chain, QT has a vague retro flavor, but is both up-to-date and versatile.

Cabinet of curiosity by Neri & Hu

It's called Secrets & .. and it's the first in a series of "cabinet of curiosity" that Stellar Works asked Neri & Hu designer and creative directors. A retro and industrial reinterpretation of the cabinet, presented in numerous variants to be chosen based on what the furniture will host.
