The new proposals by Cassina at IMM Cologne 2018
Cassina’s novelties presented at IMM Cologne 2018 tell about the past, the present and the future of a company that has just reached the goal of 90 and continues to evolve, creating new projects and revisiting iconic products. Under the artistic direction of Patricia Urquiola, the stand, characterized by the concept In Store Philosophy 3, includes classic items and new collections that summarize Cassina's style: fluidity of space, union of different elements and continuous return of forms and trends.
The extraordinary contemporaneity of design icons such as the LC3 armchair, known as Fauteuil Grand Confort, designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, lives again in the customized models made by these three masters. Cassina has proposed two of the three Exemplaire Personel versions in limited edition: LC3 Exemplaire Personnel LC and LC3 Exemplaire Personnel CP that differ from the standard pieces of the LC collectionfor leather quality and colors.
The Utrecht armchair designed by Gerrit T. Rietveld for Cassina dresses up with an unusual Friesian upholstery.
Inside the Cassina stand, we have seen a triumph of flexibility and versatility that are related to the concept of modern living, expressed in the book "This Will be the place" curated by Felix Burrichter. Comfort and elegance emerge in the dynamic Floe Insel sofa by Patricia Urquiola and in the conversational space of the Soft Props modular seating system designed by Konstantin Grcic.
The Baleno shelves and the hybrid Cotone chair are also the result of collaboration with the Bourollec Brothers and convey the idea of a cosy home in which different styles coexist.
Each collection, according to the philosophy of the brand, is an ongoing project. Just think of the sofa Super Beam Sofa System by Patricia Urquiola and the 8 Cube sofa by Piero Lissoni.
The Lebeau table designed by Patrick Jouin was reproposed with a wood finish, while the historical Superleggera chair by Gio Ponti looks a new and actual creation.
