Cassina 1 Fauteuil Dossier Basculant 60 - Armchair Designed by Le Corbusier

Designed in 1928 and presented at the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1929, the armchair 1 Fauteuil dossier basculant is now part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York. This design reflects the rational approach of Le Corbusier, Jeanneret and Perriand: clear lines, balanced proportions and a measured dialogue between form and function.

In 2025, Cassina celebrates sixty years since the beginning of the production of the models signed by the trio, today recognised under the acronym LC, with a special edition of the small armchair: 1 Fauteuil dossier basculant 60. The project is part of a broader commemorative path, aimed at reinterpreting some of the most representative works of European modernism.

This version is proposed with a polished metal structure and ton-sur-ton upholstery in self-supporting plis leather, for an essential visual result, devoid of superfluous ornamentation. The intervention does not alter the original nature of the object, but emphasises its rigour.
