Now a cult object, the 4 Chaise Longue à reglage continu designed by Le Corbusier, Jeanneret, and Perriand was presented at the 'Salon d'Automne' des Artistes Décorateurs in 1929 along with other pieces from the collection. Le Corbusier loved to call it "the true machine for resting." Indeed, thanks to the tilting movement of the chaise longue, the user can choose the best position, not regulated by any mechanism but stabilized by the user's body weight. The Cassina Durable versions differ from the standard versions in the use of recycled and bio-based materials in the production processes, such as recycled polyester fiber for the padding and polyurethane with bio-based polyols for the foam elements, reflecting the company's commitment to sustainability and design innovation.
