Cassina 815 Olimpino Table Designed by Ico Parisi

815 Olimpino is a table designed by Ico Parisi in 1955 and returned to production under the brand name Cassina. It has a monolithic tempered glass top in different finishes and a square metal frame with wooden details.

Ico Parisi The table has always been at the centre of the design of a home, with ever-changing materials and new configurations. In the table Olimpino contrasts the two material elements: glass and metal, in a bold final effect. The metal structure consists of two pairs of 'Y'-shaped uprights, the inner upper arms of which converge and join under the headboards of the top, while the outer arms diverge, blocking, with a lateral brass stop in different finishes, the rectangular slab of the top. The legs, paired in this way, are made integral by a double crosspiece, also in metal, which divides near the sides to form a double "V". The arrow-shaped feet, made of solid wood, embellish the design, as do the large brass screws.

Domenico Parisi, nicknamed Ico, was born in Palermo in September 1916 to Sicilian parents who lived in Como. Parisi's work became increasingly prolific from the 1950s onwards, as he designed furniture, first for one-off pieces with artisans in Brianza, and later for industrial production with companies such as Cassina.
