Akari 75A Lamp is a pendant lamp designed by Isamu Noguchi and produced by the Vitra brand.
The Japanese word 'akari' means brightness and light, but also lightness. Isamu Noguchi says: 'Akari's light comes on like sunlight filtered through a magical mulberry paper. The magic of paper transforms cold electricity into eternal light, so that its warmth can permeate our rooms at night'. The lamp is a light sculpture created from washi paper, bamboo and iron. Ideal for living rooms, offices, or restaurants, it will bring elegance and style anywhere.

Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988) was an american designer, sculptor, architect and scenographer with japanese origins. From sculptures, to furnishings and lamps, every creation of his deeply marked the design of the 50s for their beauty and formal simplicity. Among the most popular items, the lamp collection Akari light sculptures, made of rice paper, but especially the Coffee Table, the statuesque table made of glass and hardwood and realized for Vitra, considered by Noguchi himself his best piece of work.
