Assemblage is a coffe table designed by Alain Gilles for Bonaldo. Available in two models, it has cork base and solid wood top.

The concept behind the Assemblage coffee table can be summed up in one word: combination. The distinctive sculptural appearance of the coffee table is in fact the result of a combination of different shapes and, most of all, of materials that are not usually brought together, whose weight's perception is disrupted here: cork, which is lighter than wood, makes up the base and therefore looks like the heavy element which supports the table. The use of materials tied to nature, such as wood and cork, makes Assemblage an object capable of furnishing both living rooms and bedrooms.

Designed by Alain Gilles

Born in 1970 in Brussels, Alain Gilles is a Belgian designer. For him, design is like a "second life": after completing his studies in Political Science and Marketing Management, he worked in the financial world and then studied industrial design in France. He has created iconic products such as the Big Table by Bonaldo: an impactful table perfect for living areas and meeting rooms, defined by a dynamic, unusual and peculiar design, provided by the geometric playfulness of the legs.
