Bellhop, a modern-day candle. This is how Flos presents this beautiful, minimalist and functional cordless table lamp. Its frame with base and dome in polycarbonate, simple and ingenious at the same time, makes it both a functional lamp and an elegant decorative piece. Bellhop, designed in 2016, comes from a brilliant idea: inspired by the shape of a Japanese bowl, Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby created a table lamp that radiates a glare-free, soft light for the newly-opened London Design Museum. The effect was amazing: initially conceived for restaurant tables, Bellhop provides a pleasant downwards light that bounces away from the table surface. Colored, flexible and versatile, the Bellhop cordless table lamp enriches any corner of the house, and it is extremely easy to move. This simple archetype was adapted to a broad range of wall, floor and suspension lamps, as well as to a line of outdoor lighting.
