The Bertoia Large Chair combines strength and comfort for a lightweight design and absolutely essential. This version is different from Diamond chair for the seat it is most generous and most comfortable. Bertoia himself defined it as "a real sculpture made of air and steel." It is a timeless armchair that became a true masterpiece of design. Suitable for all environments, from waiting rooms to the living area of private residences, the commercial spaces to the sleeping area.

Harry Bertoia has been an important Italian-born American designer, famous for the variety of its creations including interior design, sculpture and jewelry-making. His work, strongly influenced by the observation of nature and of his home country, is pervaded with engraving art in all its stages. The other focus was on the abilities of metals in relationship with the spaces, the movement and the sound. Bertoia in fact designed a system of sonorous sculptures, based on the vibration of metal bars in different thicknesses. During the 50ies, with the spread of the “contemporary” style, a particular system of chairs appeared. They were characterized by a combination of sturdiness and lightness, thanks to the iron rod frame.
