Gubi Bistra Stool Designed by Studio AMDL CIRCLE

Bistra is the collection developed by Gubi in collaboration with AMDL CIRCLE, the Milan-based studio founded by Michele De Lucchi. Inspired by the classic steam-bent rattan bistro chair, a symbol of early 20th-century European design, the project transforms a historic model into a contemporary proposal, attentive to artisanal quality and the essentiality of form.

The series includes a dining armchair, a lounge armchair, and a three-legged stool. Each piece is based on three main steam-bent rattan components: the backrest, the armrests, and the double fork forming the leg structure. Tone-on-tone bindings reference tradition, while fluid lines and a light profile make the collection versatile and suited to a variety of settings.

Bistra unites memory and modernity, offering a design in which material, proportions, and details achieve harmonious balance. Offered in three color combinations, it matches the natural, black, or olive-green rattan finishes, creating visual continuity between structure and upholstery.
