Hoptimist
An important part of Danish design history since the 1960s, Hoptimist creates unique items designed as a reminder to remain positive and optimistic. Their catalog is full of iconic items and beautiful novelties, including their particularly well-known joyful and colourful Bimble and Bumble: a girl with smiling eyes and an attentive boy with a split on his head. As well as being the first Hoptimist creations by founder and designer Gustav Ehrenreich, they still spread joy worldwide today.
It was in the 1960s that Gustav Ehrenreich founded the Hoptimist movement, representing today an important part of Danish history. Ehrenreich was inspired by his strong beliefs in the power of smiles. The beauty of his creations, in fact, can be not only seen through the eyes, but can also be found in the profound meaning of their purpose: to remind people to be positive and to spread joy around the world, giving each person the opportunity to be a “hoptimist” themselves.
