Røros Tweed

In the clear, luminous landscapes of the Norwegian plateau, Røros Tweed preserves a tradition that spans centuries. Working exclusively with local wool — sourced and crafted entirely in Norway — the company creates blankets, throws and textiles defined by essential aesthetics, refined textures and vibrant colour palettes. Collaborations with leading designers, including Anderssen & Voll and other international voices, reinterpret this textile heritage through a contemporary and sustainable lens.

The history of Røros Tweed traces back to the 18th century and the philanthropic vision of Peder Hiort, whose commitment to textile education strengthened the local community. From this legacy, the mill was officially established in 1940, becoming a benchmark for exceptional Norwegian wool. Craftsmanship, a short supply chain and a deep connection to the region shape an authentic identity: pieces designed to last for generations, carrying forward a knowledge that continues to inspire Scandinavian design today.
