Cotto d'Este Cement Project - Porcelaine Stoneware

Cement Project is a system of surfaces and colours that echoes the effects of cement with extreme aesthetic and sensory fidelity, including the traditional wooden slat formwork. Designed by the Cotto D’Este brand and made of porcelain stoneware. Available in three thicknesses and six sizes with various colours and finishes.

The collection conceptually refers to the great industrial architectures of the twentieth century, from which the rigour and the strong expressive charge mutate, but it opens up in its use to a great variety of interpretations. The project plays on the combination of five nuances declined on three different surfaces Work, Cem and Land, each proposed in different thicknesses and formats. Cement Project is part of the PROTECT line: ultra-high-performance antibacterial floors and coatings, for healthy, safe and protected living. The work surface finish is inspired by the traditional wooden moulds made by carpenters for reinforced concrete constructions and is characterized by unique and unrepeatable fingerprints imprinted in the cement, which leave indelible traces of the fibres and knots of the wood. Work is a surface capable of recreating the typical atmosphere of metropolitan buildings, designed to make residential, commercial or public spaces unique, both indoors and outdoors, on the floor, wall or ceiling and also ideal for ventilated facades. Cem is inspired by hand-troweled concrete floors. The surface reproduces the traces of the movements of the craftsman who spreads and spreads the cement mixture on the ground. The particularity of the material is constituted by the infinite shades of grey and by a fascinating and original shiny / opaque reflection that takes on a unique and distinctive character against the light. Land is inspired by hand-made cement tiles obtained by pouring the cement mixture into special trays. The surface faithfully reproduces traces of water drops, stains and halos of various sizes and nuances typical of the drying process. Scratches and delicate dots give the floor a special and pleasant lived-in look. Land is a full-body coloured porcelain stoneware, 14mm thick, decorated on the surface with high-definition digital technology and offered in two finishes: Natural non-slip surface R10-B and surface Lappata soft to the touch.
