Chester One 4 Seater Sofa - Leather Soul Ray

Chester One is an elegant collection of sofas designed by Renzo Frau for Poltrona Frau. The series includes the 3, 4, and 5 seater sofa, as well as the armchair and the pouf.

The craftsmanship handed down from generation to recognize the tufted back and arms with a series of leather-covered nails to finish the back with elegance and timeless luxury. The vegetable horsehair padding is shaped by hand, while the structure is in seasoned beech and feet. The feet are available in a low version with a natural finish, dark walnut, and black lacquer, and a high version covered with leather. The springs are eight-way springs tied and supported on jute webbing.

The history of Poltrona Frau can be traced back to one figure, Lorenzo Frau, aka Renzo. A man from the military world who, passionate about design, started one of the largest Made in Italy companies. During a business trip to England he discovered the Chesterfield sofa and, sensing its potential, was the first to bring it to Italy. Driven by a passion for French and Central European design, he decided to open his own workshop. In 1912 Poltrona Frau was born.
