Designed by Isamu Noguchi in 1944, the Noguchi Coffee Table by Vitra combines a glass top with a solid wood base featuring organic, sculptural forms.

Conceived as a domestic translation of the biomorphic bronze and marble sculptures developed by Noguchi between the late 1930s and the early 1940s, the Noguchi Coffee Table expresses a formal exploration based on balance. Reduced to essential elements, the base reflects the designer’s intent to simplify the relationship between form, space, and function.

The Noguchi Coffee Table features a 19 mm thick glass top with rounded edges, supported by two solid wood legs positioned at right angles to ensure a stable and well-balanced structure; the base is available in black lacquered ash, natural lacquered maple, or natural walnut with an oiled finish.

The distinctive character of the Noguchi Coffee Table lies in the way the glass top is supported: two wooden elements, arranged perpendicularly, provide stability without interrupting visual continuity.
