Molteni&C Colombo 2 Decorative Object Designed by Gio Ponti

Colombo 2 by Molteni&C is a decorative sculpture with a strong symbolic value, capable of transforming the simplicity of a polished stainless steel surface into an essential and poetic figure. Inspired by theorigami technique, this dove is born from a single fold, precise and well-calibrated, which gives the metal sheet a new meaning, evoking the image of an animal that belongs to the universal imagination. Part of a project that renews the dialogue between Molteni&C, the heirs of Gio Ponti and his Archives, Colombo 2 represents a small but intense tribute to the master's thought: simple objects, but capable of generating emotion, beauty and reflection. The minimalist design and the mirrored surface create an interesting play of reflections, which varies depending on the light and the point of observation. Each corner reflects light differently, creating a continuous dialogue between form and environment. Perfect on its own or in combination with other figures in the series, it finds a place on shelves, tables or decorative niches, bringing with it a design idea that goes beyond the object: a small monument to the beauty of the sign, memory and simplicity that knows how to excite.
