Continuum D.163.7 by Bonacina 1889 Armchair

Continuum D.163.7 by Bonacina 1889 is an armchair designed by Gio Ponti and produced by Molteni&C as part of the Heritage Collection re-edition project in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives. Moorish-coloured reed and analine wicker frame from the equatorial forests of Indonesia. Upholstery available in a wide range of carefully selected textile and leather finishes.

Skilfully crafted using hand-woven rattan, Continuum represents the historic collaboration between Italian designers and Brianza artisans. Inspired by organic shapes and the bergère chairs of the 1950s, designed for hotels and cruise ships, the armchair offers a sinuous and fluid design.

The production of the armchair Continuum D.163.7 by Bonacina 1889 requires over 200 hours of craftsmanship for each piece; the upholstery can be customised with a wide selection of fabrics and leather. The Continuum project underlines Molteni&C's commitment to preserving Gio Ponti's legacy, in collaboration with Bonacina, a symbol of Italian craftsmanship excellence.
