Defined by its interplay between structure and lightness, Costas juxtaposes the rigidity of black-lacquered steel with the organic weave of rattan. The visible bulb adds a subtle rawness, while the woven shade diffuses a warm, tactile light. Ideal above dining tables, reading nooks, or transitional spaces, its minimal silhouette and natural textures lend depth without dominance. The design maintains equilibrium—grounded yet airy—offering a quiet presence in contemporary or Mediterranean interiors.

Created by long-time Faro Barcelona collaborators Alex&Manel Lluscà, Costas draws from vernacular coastal architecture, where utilitarian forms meet sunlit materials. The collection reflects a revival of handcrafted textures within modern lighting. Though not driven by nostalgia, the lamp acknowledges design traditions rooted in place and climate. The use of rattan recalls mid-20th-century Mediterranean craftsmanship, reinterpreted through a pared-back lens.
