Molteni&C D.154.2 Armchair Gio Ponti Designed by Gio Ponti

Molteni&C. turns the spotlight on the masters of architecture and design with a project involving a re-make of furniture and furnishings by renowned 20th century designer Gio Ponti. In its shape, D.154.2 is similar to a butterfly and has an external structure in compact cold moulded polyurethane and internal structure in flexible cold moulded polyurethane with a cushion upholstered in a wide range of fabrics.

A collection of furnishings presented after a long process of research, selection and study of prototypes, thanks to the collaboration and exclusive agreement signed with the Ponti heirs. The collection, put together under the artistic direction of Cerri & Associati Studio, includes furnishings that Gio Ponti designed between 1935 and 1950s. The elegant D.154.2 armchair was designed for the villa of the Planchart collectors in Caracas in 1953.
