Afteroom
Afteroom is a Stockholm-based design studio, founded and run by Hung-Ming Chen and Chen-Yen Wei. The designer duo looks at the past as a path towards the future, with the intention of being also a valuable source of inspiration for emerging designers. Famous for its collaboration with Menu, Afteroom has conceived products marked by sober, minimalist and refined elegance, such as the Afteroom Bar Chair, the Afteroom Counter Chair stool, the Afteroom Lounge Chair and the Afteroom Bench.
Sometimes the designers are inspired by past styles and shapes such as the Afteroom armchair, which is nothing but the result of the union between two symbolic pieces that date back to the first years of Modernism: the Thonet Bentwood armchair by Michael Thonet and the Spanish Chair by Børge Mogensen. Afteroom’s mission is to create beautiful products that acquire more and more value over time. A design that keeps us company for life.
