Alberto Meda
Alberto Meda is an Italian industrial designer, born in Tremezzina (Como) in 1945. His creations are the outcome of his highest engineering skills: functional, elegant products with a minimal flair. From the AM and Physix office chairs for Vitra, to the countless lighting collections for Luceplan and the Aledin collection of table lamps for Kartell, the creations by Alberto Meda stand out for their linear, impactful design.
Alberto Meda graduated in mechanical engineering in 1969, at the Polytechnic of Milan. His education is clearly reflected through his works, a collection of extremely functional, brilliant products crafted using top quality materials. Alberto Meda has been technical director of Kartell since 1973, and since 1979 he has been working as a freelance designer and collaborating with many international companies.
