Aldo Cibic
Born in 1955 in Schio (Vicenza), Aldo Cibic is a designer, architect, professor, the founder of the Cibic Studio and of the Cibicworkshop, an interdisciplinary design studio and research centre. In 1981, he joined the group of Ettore Sottsass, becoming the co-founder of Sottsass Associati and of the Memphis Group. His creations range from furniture to design objects, in collaboration with brands such as Paola C. and De Castelli.
After his initial self-taught training, Cibic entered the world of architecture and design thanks to Ettore Sottsass. During the 1980s he founded his studio and became professor at the Domus Academy, at the Polytechinc of Milan and at the IUAV of Venice. Today he is an Honorary Professor at the College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University, Shanghai. The designer was listed by the Domus magazine in the guide to the world’s best architects “100+ best architecture firms 2019”.
