Barba Corsini

The Spanish functionalist architect Francisco Juan Barba Corsini is listed among the most influential iberian artists for his magestral renovation of Antonio Gaudi’s La Pedrera building, for which he also carried out the interior designing and was awarded several prizes. His approach towards arts and design was always influenced by a Nordic, efficient and pure style, reflected in several collaborations such as the lamps designed for Gubi.

After his graduation in urban design and architecture from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona, he started working as a design professor for the very same school. In 1945 he opened his own architecture studio, designing projects based on efficiency, functionality, and superbe aesthetics. Each creation by Barba Corsini is a powerful, refined mixture of art and architecture.
