Among the most extravagant personalities of the 19th century, the restless, polyhedral attitude pursued by Carlo Mollino (1905–1973) ranges from furniture design, to architecture and photography. The anti-conformist essence of the artist, interested in manipulating the volumes, it's tangible when entering his Turin apartment, Casa Mollino, that has now become a museum.
Mollino’s work in furniture involved partnerships with renowned brands, among which Zanotta for which he designed some acclaimed products such as the Reale table, the Cavour desk or the Fenis chair. His design pieces are the result of a meticulous research, both in functionality and aesthetic, and are currently exhibited in some eminent museums around the world, such as the Victoria and Albert museum.
