Determinate and revolutionary, Charlotte Perriand is known for her long and solid collaboration with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, with whom she created some cult furniture pieces, defined by a profound aesthetic value. Charlotte Perriand was able to animate objects, thanks to her extraordinary intuition and to a careful experimentation with materials such as bamboo and tubular steel. The collaboration with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret and her experience in Japan represent two fundamental moments in her life. Perriand revisited the Japanese tradition in her later works, with a spontaneous spirit of multicultural integration. She died in 1999.
