Dirk Wynants
Dirk Wynants’ creations redefine outdoor furniture through a design vision centred on conviviality. His collaboration with Extremis has given rise to contemporary design icons, including Gargantua and the Kosmos line, conceived to shape both residential and contract environments. Combining durable hardwoods with galvanised metals, each piece becomes a true outdoor micro-architecture designed to encourage interaction and shared experiences.
Born in Belgium in 1964, Dirk Wynants studied Interior Architecture at the Institute of Ghent, where he developed a rigorous design approach. In 1994, he founded Extremis as a platform for translating technical innovation into furniture design. He later established Wynants Design Works, while prestigious international awards, including the Red Dot Award, have confirmed his position as one of the leading figures in contemporary European design.
